LOF GeGer's Style!

Ahh..the joys of owning an adopted pet!  Last week was quite an adventure for my little GeGe!  To really understand you must know that this all started about a year ago when I took a huge LEAP OF FAITH and decided to take in a little girl pug who needed a home.  She weighed 10 pounds, had very little fur left, was scared timid and down right ugly!!! So ugly and pitiful that she was cute.  My heart broke and Gentry (affectionately nicknamed GeGe, GeGers, G and so on!) was brought into my house.  I knew she was going to have some health problems and was prepared I thought!  But what she has continued to go through the last 14 months is pretty unbelievable.  The positives are that she took the LEAP with me and now weighs 19 pounds, has regained most of her fur, is so aggressive about getting loving that she will headbutt you until you pet her and she is still down right so ugly that she is cute.    The negatives are that we are still dealing with her skin condition.  Last week she started breaking out in hives!  Her fur was going a million different directions and she was whimpering because it itched her so bad.  I have to say that I have never been happier that I am working from home.  I was able to get her to the vet and had a steroid and benedryl shot in her so fast that she started calming down in 10 mins!  I would like to say I was calm during this whole process...but as most of you CAPEcuties know...I can not lie!  I was a babbling idiot...I was hysterical...I was scared that I may lose her after only one year.

I have thought about this so much since it happened, because it is a direct metephor for the way I feel about my business right now.  It is small, underweight, and in pieces!  While this is how I am sure every infant business comes together...this is this CAPEcreator's first time ever taking this LEAP!!!  The natural instincts I have with G I also have with my business!  I know what I need to do to get all the CAPEcuties out there jumping and using their imaginations!  My lesson here is to not become that babbling idiot, to stay true to the course and the process.  Much like the vet did when we walked in!

The FANTASTIC new is that I am finalizing art for the TEES this week and I could not be more excited about what I have accomplished!  I am in the final process of costing and figuring out logistics.  The next step is to prepare mentally for sewing 1200 capes and 4800 pieces of Velcro!  Not to mention learning how to embroidery, setting up a photo shoot, preparing for trade shows, figure out quickbooks, linking up an ECOMM site, as well as maintain a heavy schedule of networking!!!  Ahh..I now see why most people let someone else do all of this!!  Not this CAPEcreator!!  I will be strong like GeGe and I know that one day soon I will be a heavy weight, who may still have some lingering problems, but the love and determination to not to let my CAPE go slack!

PS.  I will be offering Pet tees with capes!!  Can you imagine a super pug??  Haha!!
