A Movember to Remember

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo's, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

Once registered at www.movember.com, men start Movember 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.

"Lemmon" has never been so SWEET!

We had the joy and pleasure of being invited to go to the Frankie Lemmon School today.

A bit about Frankie Lemmon....The school’s namesake, Frankie Lemmon, youngest son of Frank and Georgia Lemmon, was born with Down syndrome in the 1960’s. When Frankie became of age to begin kindergarten, there was no school in the area that would accept children with special education needs. To fill this void Frankie’s father, minister of the Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church and the congregation united with the community to create the Hudson Memorial Kindergarten for Mentally Retarded Children. The school which began with three children in 1965 was re-named the Frankie Lemmon Memorial Preschool a few years later following Frankie’s death.

The school accepts 25 students between the ages of 3-6.  Their goal is to provide life changing education and support for the students to function better. They also want to prepare them to enter a normal school environment.  I can not put exactly into words how amazing this school and their program is.  They say pictures are worth a THOUSAND words and in this case these pics are worth a THOUSAND heart tugs.  We LOVE our little SUPERHEROES at Frankie Lemmon!

One Giant Leap....

What a LEAP OF FAITH!  This past Sunday Felix Baumgartner took one of the biggest leaps of faith we will ever witness.  He and a team of 300 people worked for 5 years to break the world record for the highest skydive.  They also wanted to break the speed of sound, which means mach speed or over 690 miles per hour.  One would think the hardest part would have been taking the actual LEAP!  Felix seemed to have no fear.

It is a great reminder that if you are not living on the edge, pushing the limits, you may be taking up too much space!

We are kind of like the Mall....

Being an online retailer you would think that we would not be thinking about putting up our holiday decorations in October!!  But alas we are not excluded in the joys of preparing for the holiday season.   Our process may be more behind the scenes and not as obvious as store decorations.

Are they really putting them up already??  Does it getting any scarier???!!!
We have been focused this week on planning ahead for the biggest retail season of the year.  One step was making sure that the Leap of Faith Clothing Etsy Store was fully revised and stocked.  One of the challenges with having an Etsy store and a regular shopping cart is the maintainence.  Keeping one store loaded and accurate is hard enough!  Etsy has come a long way, but the ability to pull over styles, or export/import styles has not happened yet.  We can not wait for the day.  Our accuracy will improve tripple fold...we are only human afterall!  So please visit our new and improved Etsy shop.  Of course all the same products can still be found at www.leapoffaithclothing.com.

Another was to gear up our advertising efforts.  We have a pretty awesome marketing strategy in place and we are hoping that it pays off in the next few months!  Look out for our Ads on Google, Facebook, Etsy and your favorite blogs!

The next was really evaluating our pricing structure.  While we think our product is absolutely amazing and worth $1,000,000... we know that in this wordly situation we have to be conscious of your needs. We are happy to say that we have lowered prices on 95% of all of our products.  We hope that this will help us all out over the holiday season!

                                                     HAPPY HOLIDAYS LOF STYLE!!!!!

As SEEN in Charlotte Fashion week...

We were pretty excited to have the chance to participate in the recycled portion of Charlotte Seen's Fashion week.  The process of personalizing our CAPES yields quite a bit of leftover vinyl.  So building on this medium we thought it would be cool to add in another type of vinyl...records! All while keeping with the CAPE theme! We are excited to see our design walk down the runway!  Keep in mind this is suppose to be over the top!  How cool is it to see Leap of Faith Clothing on the big screen?

It is hard to see but Jax is wearing a CAPE made out of records!
